Thanks for all the great info :) I've successfully disassembled the CD4000. Still could not access the clock tho ... I didn't have the proper torx screw to remove the screw near the tray motor.I've done the opamp swap as well but used the OOPA2134 instead. For some reason the OPA2604 is oscillating in my player ... harshness during high frequency notes that sound a little like clipping. I think its cos my AC mains are kinda of crap.
So far I've only done the opamp swap ... pretty impressed with the results that I've now gone "TWEAK CRAZY". I'm thinking of putting in a Trichord Clock 2. They claim that they have specific intructions for the CD4000. I'll be keen on any tweak as long as I have the proper instructions. Whats this kwak clock you're talking about ... is it something like Guido Tent's XO clock? Do they have installation instructions for the CD4000? Tell me more :]
