remove the torx screw (size 5? - I used an awl to get this out). The pcb is then held by plastic lugs on the casing which is easy to manipulate out but be careful - laser is connected to pcb by cable. I have not tried to disconnect the acble as it is very flimsy. This does not give much clearance for the work of changing the clock - I have not done this yet but intend to use the Kwak clock schematic - is this your approach.
Also I am looking into some way of changing the SAA7372 decoder and filter to non-oversampling - need a service manual to get further - if u have one would appreciate some pages copied.
Look at http://www.decdun.fsnet.co.uk/project.cd.html for full details on Philips CD713/723 tweaks - same as Marantz CD4000.
Let me know how u get on
