Re: Belt's tweaks! Second that

I find the whole Belt thing rather fascinating actually. It highlights for me some questions about the interest in audio and what those of us who pursue an interest in audio are actually doing.

I have never used a P.W.B. thing, nor have I ever performed a P.W.B. suggested tweak. What interests me is why I haven't? Like just about everyone here I don't believe they will work, but why not try them out just the same?

We like there to be some semblance of science to the tweaks we perform, some reason why it might make a difference; with the Belt things there is no apparent explicable reason whatsoever. This is why someone like me or 99% of AA people will completely dismiss these things.

But are we right?

What if you go around your home and do as much of the Belt stuff as you can without spending very much money. Then listen to your system? What if it sounded much better?

We will say this would be a sort of placebo effect no doubt, so the Belt things can be dismissed as placebo if they work. But why then don't we dismiss the benefits of the roughly scientifically based tweaks we perform as placebo? Why are any perceived benefits from these "normal" tweaks seen as evidence that they work, but if we were to get a benefit from the Belt tweak if would be dismissed as being a sort of placebo effect?
