Re: an experience with CD67 upgrade

Hi Steve,
You just answered my CD63 post so now I'm answering yours!
Philips have stopped making them. Farnell in UK sell 1% polystyrene (film and foil - same spec as Philips) which I have bought but haven't put in yet. They are FSCEX series made in UK by LCR Components. Thorsten somewhere suggested that they MAY make a good replacement but he hasn't tried them. They'll be better than the bog-standard mylars that Marantz gave us.
Check out http://www.geocities.com/audiograde who also sell these in the UK. They only sell good audio caps (Elna Silmic/Cerafine, Black Gate, WIMA) which suggests that these must be good too.
If you are in UK, get them from Farnell as they won't charge postage and packing and deliver next day! You have to buy them in 5's though so for the three values you want you'll end up with 15 caps. Nice to have spares though. Maplin also sell LCR polystyrene caps but they are the 5% versions.
Happy tweaking.
