You could be right about the PRaT; after I read your post, I did a side by side comparison of the 2 cables. The Monsters seemed to have tamed a little sibilance in the system and tightened the bass, but they did it at the expense of the overall musicality of the cables. I remember that I'd compared 'em when I bought the Monster Cables, but I'd only been listening for details rather than musicality.
I guess it's a case of live and learn....
