I needed some extra long interconnects for my preamp to monoblocks, so I made up some with low loss Radio Shack microphone cable! 2 conductors and a seperate shield. I used some Monster RCA jacks pulled from a shorter pair of Monster Cables. I only connected the shield at one end as expected, and I also slipped some ferrite barrels (long beads) over the cables before I soldered. Works good and the cable is very flexible.
