invalid ring. It's used for people with hemroids (sic?) to sit on, LOL. I had one for my CD player a long time ago, and yes the valve is on the outside. You can get it from a medical supply store or even some pharmacys. Just make sure it's the inflatable kind with a valve and not a the foam type.
