Before sinking your money into industrial racks, you should investigate whether the shelves offer any type of isolation from vibration.
I've been told that the shelves are on audio racks are suspended on spikes or points of some type to isolate the MDF from vibrations coming up through the structure of the rack. Other folks support the idea that the spikes act as a mechanical ground for the internally generated vibrations and resonances of the equipment placed on the shelf. Believe whichever theory you want, but if the industrial rack is bolted together as a unit, you may be buying a steel version of the old O'Sullivan fibreboard units that were inflicted on many a budding 'phile.
If cost is your main complaint, ask for help from the DIY inmates. It shouldn't be long before you get more suggestions than you could possibly use.
I bought a used Sound Organization rack for myself.Even though it's not state of the art, it's a part of my system and I have no regrets about spending the money.
