Bill this is not aimed at you personally. Just a general statement re the thread. Amazing sometimes ? In the right context, Radio Shack is amazing all the time. For decades, they have always been a stable source of soldering irons and accessories, small parts, multitesters, small tools, walkie talkies, gadgets (including the popular sound level meter)etc. and have been really good at that. So what if the "associates" sometimes seem like high school dropouts. I've learnt that once you know what you want, just go get it from the display rack and ignore these guys. But, because they don't don't carry high-end audio components and accessories, all of a sudden they are "Rat" Shack ? In all my years as an electronics hobbyist, I have known not to look to Radio Shack for high performance audio. When I've been looking for that little (ordinary, carbon)resistor for a non-critical project, I've always been able to find it. I would not expect to find 1 per cent metal film resistors, there, although surprise of surprises, they do sell a pack of assorted 1/4 watt ones. You don't visit McDonald's for filet mignon. But, enough of my diatribe.
