These look like a rip off of Synergistic Research, which is a rip off of the Asian (forget his name) inspired room "treatments", and so on.
Out of curiosity, I made some of my own Acoustic Art style pieces after getting some brass bowls (make sure they ring, thrift store finds) and making some wood pieces to hold them.
To my ears, they DO work. I think how well depends on your ears and system, room size etc. I already have some homemade Shakti Hallowgraphs that I would not do without, so I am familiar with augmenting the stereo spread/spaciousness/room affects. As far as sound, I am hearing a deeper, richer, fuller room acoustic--what does that mean? Perhaps more headphone like, in that you feel a bit more surrounded with sound, if that makes any sense. My guess is that these work because they ring, and if your speakers are able to excite or stimulate the frequency of the bowls, it affects the room and your ears.
I would suggest finding some inexpensive brass bowls that ring when tapped and putting them at different points in your room. Maybe even buy some Tibetan type bowls locally, and take them back if you don't hear any difference. Good luck!
