RE: damping heatsink fins

I don't know how hot your amp runs, but a quick and dirty trial might be to make up some sandbags using zip-lock baggies and clean, dry sand. Looks like it might take three bags per side, with about an inch or so of sand in the bottom of each bag. Lay the bags on the top of the fins, with the sand concentrated over the fins. It shouldn't impede air flow much, but monitor the fin temp over time. If you like the result, I suppose you could replace the sandbags with a strip of peel-and-stick sorbothane, but the result could be different. Better? Only one way to find out. I used rope caulk to stick a small piece of lead sheet on top of the internal sinks in my EVO200.2, and it definitely made a difference, but my amp runs very cool. I also like damping the entire bottom surface of the chassis. Never tried sorbothane. I go the cheap route - several layers of 2"-wide blue painter's tape topped with a layer of aluminum tape. Easy to strip off if you don't like it. I'd say the heatsink damping definitely had a bigger effect. Good luck and have fun!
