Re: Need help w/ arguement: CD vs. Vinyl

Food for thought.. Sound waves, sample rates, and other measurable phenomenon (distortions, harmonics, etc.)ARE well documented in physics. However, the science becomes less certain when applied to the audio experience. We know that human hearing, generally is limited to somewhere in the neighborhood of 20-20. We do not know the limits of human perception. It is well documented that frequencies outside the realm of hearing can have dramatic physical effects on a human. We continue to learn more about what we are capable of. The human being the ultimate destination for the wave, we have to accept that audio is more or less a subjective science. To avoid embarassing ourselves later as the biologists and psychologists learn more about human perception, we must accept "this sounds better to me" as good enough. When physics can completely quantify human perception and existence, I will start listening to measurement and distortion based arguments.
