Re: CD vs. Vinyl

I have news for you vinyl is not dead and never will be (hopefully). LPs are still manufactured today by the big record labels as well as small audiophile labels. Turntables, cartridges, and phono preamps are still manufactured today and most receivers you buy still have a phono input. Just because most people don't believe vinyl is still around and don't listen to it doesn't mean it is dead. Go to a thrift store or flea market and see how many people fight over used records. Sidenote: I actually saw a fight over a Sgt. Pepper's on apple LP over the weekend at a flea market. One guy pushed the other one and then the other one swung at him (missed though). It eventually ended happily, well for the one who ended up the the Beatles LP.

And, on another note I have many records that are 30-40 years old and are almost noise free. When you listen to records for awhile you begin to learn to tune out a lot of the ticks and pops. Grated CDs are normally quieter than the LP, but for me and many people vinyl just sounds better.
