RE #1. See the Vandersteen web site, where they have pics of the internals on the Vandy 5. THIS is probably the ultimate for the DIYer,what ammounts to a semi-random set of diffussion wedges built0into the internal enclosure, while the outside enclosure is spherical (or egg shaped) in nature.RE #2. Since the surface of the sphere "fades away" in a completely smooth and even manner, the fact that the "edges" (there are no more "edges with a sphere), are all equal is a moot point. If this were ANY sort of question or issue, use the egg shape, and then even this will be minimized.
