It's one of the 2 books I recommend, the other being Floyd Toole's "Sound Reproduction—Loudspeakers and Rooms".
In this case I think the Everest is by far the better of the 2. It covers how room acoustics work, the influence of room materials, and not only how to treat a room but how and why various treatments work.
Toole's book is more strongly oriented towards psychoacoustics and our perception of sound. He gives advice on room treatment but largely from the psychacoustic perspective (his and Everest's recommendations are in pretty good agreement in my view) but he doesn't cover physical acoustics which are the issue here.
I think both books complement each other very well but often one will be more suited to a particular set of issues than the other. In this case the Everest is the book to read in my view, and I also think that it's worth purchase by any audiophile looking to get the best sound they can and thinking about just what their room is doing to their sound.
