...but F. Alton Everest's "Master Handbook of Acoustics " is well worth reading. The writing is clear and its a real page turner, at least as far as this sort of book ever can be. It's not excessively technical, but by the time you're finished, you will have a good understanding of the factors that go into small room acoustics (i.e the sort of rooms that stereos are put in.) It is written for people who want to enhance their home stereo's environment and small recording studios.
