Well, I was simplifying the post...the room is not really a regular rectangle. The lenght is divided into two areas of different width: 15.75' and 11.94'. I sit 11.5' from the front wall (35%), have two 14" dia tube bass traps (Jon Risch DIY), 2 3" first reflection panels on the front wall (DIY), and two 4"x2'x4' panels 8" away from the back wall. All this helps. Lately I put together a very large 4" panel to use an entrance as a huge bass trap. Things have improved a lot, as measured with a Radio Shack SPL and test tones every 1 Hz in the 10 to 300 Hz range. I still have peaks at length f0, f1, f2, and f3 (17, 34, 52, 69 Hz , respectively). Might need to implement a diaphragmatic absorber to get down there.
Additionally, I'm reading Toole's book, who argues for equalizing to tame those frequencies, plus using two subs and using digital signal processing delaying subs to even out the low bass response at different seating positions.
So yes, I'm thinking 2 subs, but getting 2 JL F113 is out of my budget, so looking into options.
