No general conclusion drawn...

... and I thought that I had indicated that. But perhaps not clearly enough. That was just A result of a single test on a single machine. My main point was that you can't count on multiple CD's of the same material to sound exactly the same.

But I can tell you the conclusion that I did draw from the test at the time and that was that it didn't affect the sound on my machine but apparently did on some others since so many folks, including said friend, found that it did.

And I was biased a little by your nefarious activities. Since you are still peddling colored crape paper (have I got that right?) for CD drawers that means to me that whatever the problem is it hasn't been universally resolved if actually improved at all. From recent experiences with multiple computer drives it surely hasn't.
