RE: OK, they're not the same thing necessarily.

bartc,
I realize that they are different and that they do overlap, somewhat. I'm just frustrated with the system at the moment. I had considered Alan Maher's designs and may indeed go that direction. With regard to power cords, I've been down that road and am satisfied, at the moment, with them. As far as the power source supply lines for the system goes, it goes like this: 2 seperate runs, 1 to mono block amps, that's all that's on it, Metal flex conduit with 12/3 solid core inside, with Square-D 15 amp breaker. It terminates in a non-magnetic metal outlet box to a Pass-Seymour 20 amp outlet, designed for MRI use (once again non-magnetic). The cover plate is solid brass with an exterior-use foam gasket under that. The whole assembly sits on non-skid silicon feet. The entire run is encased in pipe insulation to stop any vibration from the metal condit.
The front end, CD Player and Pre-Amp is also a seperate line, following the same configuration except that the cover for the A/C outlet is the twin flip spring-loaded cover type (once agin non-magnetic) that puts some pressure on the A/C cord plugs/wire. This circuit has these two components on it, and has a Square-D 15 amp breaker as well. The draw back is that they are the last two breakers in the fuse panel, which means all that dirty crap, appliances, etc., are in front of them. To re-wire the fuse panel, meaning the whole house, and move these two lines to the front of the box where they might be less influenced by the appliances is totally unrealistic. And so here I am.
