Building your own from plywood is probably the best way to go. Here is a link to some great little magnetic grill fasteners. I'm not sure how strong neodynium magnets are or how heavy your grills will be. When I worked at a lutherie we would sand repairs to the interior of a guitar by gluing sandpaper to a sanding block that held a small rare earth magnet. We would place the block inside the guitar and use another magnet on the surface of the guitar to do the sanding inside! Here is a link to a post of some speakers built by wardsweb. This is posted at the new Bottlehead forum. He used perforated steel. The second page of his post shows the grill material. These are some of the most awesome looking speakers I have ever seen, regardless of price.
FYI parts express black grill cloth is not black! It is very dark purple and looks terrible.
