If I want to twist a pair of vinyl-sheathed (600V) 12 or 10 AWG solid wires together, is grabbing the wires in my two hands and twisting the only practical way to go, or are there (affordable) wire twisting tools available that can be used to achieve good results without leaving my hands in pain 10 meters later?
Also, can anyone give me a ballpark idea of how much shortening results from twisting a pair of such wires? (I'd like to twist the pair as tightly as reasonably possible, and it would be good to know how much untwisted cable I need in order to end up with a particular length of twisted pair.)
Thanks!
Chris

- Shortening depends on the angle of the twist. Use HS geometry to figure it out. Do a 45º angle. nt - Norm 08:33:19 06/03/09 (1)
