RE: output caps

I am amazed the output coupling caps on your CD player are 100uF. IME, the normal value for output coupling caps is 1uF ... or 2uF if you are feeding a component with a particularly low Zin (under 10kohms).

I suggest it is much better to use film caps - particular V-Cap or SoniCap Platinums teflons or Mundorf Silver-in-Oil / Silver-Gold-in-Oil - than electrolytics.

If you must use electrolytics then the only ones I would countenance are BG 'N' or 'NX' non-polar caps and I would use a pair of 4.7uFs (if you can get them) or 10uF if you can't, arranged in a "Super-E" configuration. (This means one of the pair is reversed.)

Regards,

Andy
