I use 4 small target arrow points to support my 58lb Pioneer HPM-100's and After drilling the proper sized hole (using a guide block predrilled on my drill press to make sure the hole was exactly 90 degree's to the bottom of the speaker) I used a machine tap threaded it then wet the threads with thin super glue (just enough to wet the threads not enough to drip into the speaker if you make the mistake of drilling to deep) and then after about 10 min for the glue to set up I rethread the hole. This hardens the threads greatly. Place a brass or copper washer under the shoulder of the point to also help take the weight off the threads.
I needed to have a slight angle up on the speakers so I used short points in the back and longer ones in the front.
Been mounted that way for 2 years and both speakers are in such a position that they get bumped and stuff put on top of them with no problems.
