The JC-1 draws 1280 watts at full power into 4 Ω. I would think one 30A circuit for both would be plenty.

Well, eventually, we hope to experiment with a system with five of them, plus two dedicated high current stereo sub amps. I think Racerguy's suggestion of 60A is probably appropriate, but if we end up adding 100A of service from 100A to 200A, the extra 100 will probably just go to the second panel and then we never have to think about it.

Agreed. That was back when I was thinking that the service value had to be more than the sum of the breaker values.
