Hello Jack,
We are willing to commit a lot of money to the project if it will make legitimate improvements. There isn't a blank check on the project, but I am sure we are willing to spend more than most. Let's throw out a figure of $8-10K. As I said, we don't want to do this job more than once.
In the time since I wrote the original post, we have been looking at a total of 10 lines. We are thinking of making 5 of them 30A JPS wire, and the other 5 30A Romex. This will reduce the cost of the project significantly, and at the same time still provide premium wiring for the core 5 outlets in heaviest use.
We are thinking 2x30A circuits for monos, 1x20A for digital sources, 1x20A for phono stage/preamp, one 20/30A for TT power. We might make one of these 30A just to experiment with using it for the Television. Depends on how much more a 30A "industrial" breaker costs than a 20.
What are we using? Usually I don't like to say in the interest of privacy/security. I don't like just anyone with a net connection to know what's in my living room. I will send you an email.
All the best,
ccm
