The Real Dick Hertz has given you some good advice.
If it was me, I would try some small film-and-foil bypass caps in parallel with the Solens before replacing them. 0.1µF~0.33uF, 5% of the nominal value is enough in most cases.
If you do not go slow, you may end up changing the tone in a bad way and not know where to go from there.
If you mess with the inductor, get one with the exact same DC resistance (which means you won't be changing it unless it is a cheap powdered iron type).
