Thanks for the responses. I have this handled...

At first I wanted to just try the Radio Shack transformer to see what a difference it made before making a serious PSU. I have changed my mind. I am actually going to just build a serious PSU with multiple Toroid transformers. I spoke to a Toroid manufacturer's engineer and have it all worked out.
