See my post above, I too had to stop my John Risch project for similar reasons. What's driving you (and me) nuts is the anticipation/hope for a better sounding system. Go clean your RCA conncetions or something, you'll feel better. If that doesn't work, call the nurse;she has something that will make you forget all of this.
