Stopping a project midstream ...

216.89.84.202

... often contributes to my insomnia. I've begun building a Jon Risch power conditioner. After waiting a week and a half for the parts to arrive, I planned my internal layout. I built the box on Wednesday. I began soldering wires and components last night. About half way through I heard "Honey, come kiss the kids goodnight. Then we can start the movie (Blockbuster rental)."

All I really wanted to do was finish the soldering so I could give it a listen tonight (Friday). Now she's got a dinner appointment lined up and a full weekend of running around. I probably won't get back to the soldiering until Monday. Last night I tossed with circuit diagrams and wire routing going through my head.

Does anyone else have this problem? Most projects take more than a day to complete. Why am I obsessing over this? Is this a typical hobbiest and DIY-ists phobia or am I just a type-A obsessive-compulsive neurotic?

Enjoy,
Bob
