Does it have to be regulated 48VDC, if not, you can get 48vdc 0.5A UNREGULATED AC to DC WALLWART from JAMECO.COM P/N 215108 for $11.95. You better make sure that the unit can take more than 48V becuase the unregulated power supply will put out more than 48V at light or no load, the rating is shown at 48VDC with 0.5A load. your switching supply is more likely is regulated 48VDC output.
