Are you saying you are using a first order on the tweeter only? Just one cap in the whole network? This is a very common x-over. I also imagine you are using a non-polarized cap. If this is true its direction makes no difference. So if all above is true connect positive from amp to positive on woofer and negative on the amp to negative on woofer. You can either then connect wires to the tweeter from the woofer with the cap in the middle on the positive line or just run a seperate set of wires to the tweeter from the binding posts with the cap in the middle of the positive line.
