I forgot to say that it's important to put the shelf (which I described in the previous post) under each component of your hifi chain. In my case, I put it under the Quad 99cdp, 99pre and the Zingali Overture 2 loudspeakers, but I forgot the 99amp, which I did it today.I spent many hours listening, and I think I improved the overall sound (especially musicality). I put mass loading (the 5-kilo weight) only on the top of the CD player. In the other components, mass loading was killing dynamics.
I do not know if my osservations apply to your hifi systems as well. Anyway, trying my approach should not be very expensive.
