Hello, I'm using a laminated glass (5mm+5mm and plastic foil molded in the middle) as a shelf in my rack. This is good as it does not propagate vibrations because of the plastic foil in the middle.A physist told me that, however, glass is very reflective and this is bad in acoustics (e.g., put a CD near your ear and check how the sound changes). This is why we prefer to put curtains on windows.
I was thinking of using ground (and laminated) glass, which is less reflective. Did any of you experience that kind of glass in racks?
How does change the sound of CD players? For example, moving my CD player to the laminated glass shelf, I obtained more precision in middle-high range but less bass.
Thanks
Roberto
