It will likely cause a death problem - yours, or someone else's. Never, ever connect an earth ground to the chassis of a Class II electrical appliance.The other poster was absolutely correct to caution you the way he did - it was quite obvious that you did not understand the potential consequences of the action you were contemplating. Taking offense over his warning was unwarranted and fractious.
If you want more information, look up "Class II electrical appliance" or "double insulated chassis."
