Thoughts on alternative materials/construction for VH Fine Silver ICs

Hello... I'll tell you what I've done so far and what I plan to do

First, I wrapped 5/16" cotton rope with 3/16" of layers of teflon tape

I, then constructed the cable as described in Chris's receipe

I have had problems in the past with the stiff teflon tubing putting strain, and eventually cause failure at the solder connection

I have made a pair like the ones I'm describing, and they haven't failed in 4 years. I used Cardas SLVR RCAs but prefer the Eichmann Bullet Plugs

I intend to use the Eichmann's. I plan to strip back the teflon tape inside th RCAs to expose the cotton. Then use electronic grade silicone to fill the void inside the plug.

I am hoping that this will provide additional strain refeif without effecting the sonics too much

Any thoughts or suggestions you may have are most appreciated!!
