Just wanted to thank you all for the information.
I did some research online concerning "infinite baffles", and found a site created by a guy who has used a lot of different near-infinite baffle designs. He stated that he usually uses cardboard during his trial stages before cutting into any MDF. Not the most sophisticated method, but it's cheap, and he says that it gives him a good feel as to the ideal box size/shape for any speaker that he tackles, whether he decides on sealed or open boxes.
I'll follow up on your suggestions, and post any findings (good or bad...)
