Yes, that's right. Your transformer will say, somewhere, '8K : 0, 4, 8Ω', or something. I wasn't asking the power rating of the transformer, but about how much power your amp will produce into a given (say, 8Ω) load. These are the most commonly available specs from which I can calculate how much AC voltage is on your primary. This (multiplied by √2), added to the DC operating voltage, is the max that the capacitor will see.Did you make this amp, or is it a boughten varmint? If the former, what exact type of output transformer did you use? If the latter, what brand/model/alphabetSoup is it? I have some experience in this sort of research, we may be able to feegah.
What voltage rating caps were in there before?
