....then you'll at least have a fighting chance. But then, if you could afford the entry fees, you could afford to purchase the cables in the first place, and save a good deal of money and time in the bargain.Hmmm. Well unless there are critical components that he wouldn't be able to purchase in onesies-twosies, I don't see that he'd save any money at all and it probably wouldn't involve a significant amount of time.
And why do you wish to R & D (ripoff and duplicate) someone else's creativity and livelihood, one they likely spent thousands of dollars and thousands of man-hours to create?Well yeah. Though it ain't exactly like the concept is new and I'm sure they're using off-the-shelf parts for the guts of the things.
I mean, consider 47 Labs and their Gaincard. They took a monolithic power opamp that was intended for use in mass market consumer electronics such as TVs, receivers, boom boxes, etc. and used it for a high-end stand alone power amp.
Should no one have bought power opamps and made amplifiers of their own? Should they all have bought Gaincards or, not having $3,300 to spend, just make due with something else?
I could see it if there were some actual intellectual property involved here. But the way I see it, all Harmonic Technology has done is take advantage of an already existing, mature technology. And I don't see any problem with others doing the same for themselves.
