That's not rope caulk.

In the U.S., rope caulk can be found in most hardware stores. It's not with other caulking though -- it's with weatherstripping. Rope caulk is used primarily as a window sealant. It is "putty on a roll," not something you squeeze out of a tube.

Rope caulk might be called by a different name in the U.K. Maybe "caulk cord" or something like that. "Mortite" is a popular brand name of rope caulk, and works very well for vibration control inside audio components.
