Hi
The rope caulking im refering to is not the olde string based stuff you would use for clinker built boats etc, but is a heavy putty like stuff that never cures.
It came in a roll or small real, is this the stuff you were refering to when you said it was banned -maybe the denisty of it was due to lead ?
But i would be suprised if any lead based putty would still be legal in the US (as you cant sell lead solders in the US any more).
The Sikoflex is far to light a density to dampen anything, but its a very good adhesive.Chris.
