Assuming your stands are some sort of tubing... as the Epos stands at least were when I had them... for my old Epos 14s... then you should stuff some sort of batting into them. Use a stick!! really ram it in! And keep pushing until they are well and truely stuffed!
Then you will not get any ringing from them.
I am a follower of this approach although I know some swear by the opposite.
I like the lean mean bass with speed!!
