Cat5e does not automatically mean teflon insulation. For that, you need "plenum" rated cable. It's not necessarily much more expensive but it is harder to find. I know for certain that my current Cat 5e is not teflon insulatedI was not aware that 5e meant OFC - the manufacturer specs I've seen for 5 versus 5e versus plenum haven't mentioned this. Can anybody confirm?
