Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |
|
Hi all!As part of my "cheap tweak-fest" I'm planning to construct some CAT-5 based speaker cables. I have decided to use a crimp type connection to (Ultralink brand) spade lugs if at all possible. Can this be done effectively with the conventional "electricians" crimp tool which only accomodates upto #10 wire? If not, will using a vise without any special die/restraint be likely to break the lug rather than collaps around the conductors? What has anyone else done?
PS - Based on the success of three JonRisch wall panels, I'm in the process of building two more. Bass traps next (once I get nerve up to cut circles!).
