I have a similar situation 10,000uF, 63V but I was thinking of inserting in parallel to these large caps a small stacked metal film cap of say less than 1uf. I figured that two caps in parallel makes the ESR that much smaller and that finding a modern replacement for these older large caps would be difficult because of the cap leads. Today it is mostly snap in types. What do you folks think?
