Hello David. Excellent points. Of course, a survey like this, especially done by an amateur with limited time and money, invites and deserves criticism. People should also keep in mind that I have my own set of biases and what I like is unlikely to be what you like. I've done my best to describe my preferences for sound and music and to convey what I hear.I actually have tested one component, my SACD player, with an "equal playing field," meaning that everything else in my system was the same. I've been keeping track of my preferences, but have been hesitant to share them on the Asylum because I haven't yet received all of the items I am going to test and I've only had a very short period of time with some of them. However, in case I am causing more confusion than clarity, here is my list, from most preferred to least preferred, of the isolation devices I have tested under my SACD player thus far.
SAP Relaxa
Finite Elemente Ceraball
Aurios 1.2
Ganymede
Black Diamond Racing Cones 4 w. Large Pucks
Vibrapods
Stillpoints
Vibracones
Black Diamond Racing Cones
Polycrystal Cones
Stock Feet
SSC PucksRemember, this ranking is only for my SACD player when nothing else has changed. Some of the other products, including Magix, Brightstar, and Hipjoints were not utilized in this "control" environment, so I can not fairly rank them. I am hoping to have a complete list when I finish my binge, but only for the SACD player. It would be insane to try to do it for every component.
I hope this helps. If it doesn't, I apologize.
