The big problem with your survey...

and I'm not trying to throw stones here.......

is simply the lack of comparisons. As you said, you didn't compare the BDRs to the Vibrapods, only the Vibrapod cones. Also, from what you've said, when you found something that you liked in a particular place, you tend to have left it there and not tried other things in that place. Given a limited budget, I also wonder whether you had enough of everything to be able to ttry every device in every location simultaneously.

All in all, the end result is that few of the comparisons actually end up being 'equal playing field' where only one item is changed at a time and not everything is compared to everything else. Yes, one does develop a bit of a 'feel' for what is going on over time, but you've been changing things very fast and I've found it confusing when I've tried too many changes in a short time. The issue here, of course, is how many changes is 'too many'?

I will also say that I have found in the past that I have found that there have been times when something I thought didn't work has eventually become my preferred option after something has changed elsewhere in the system. I wonder whether it is possible to reach much in the way of final conclusions regarding devices of the sort we're playing with here. My results have always been dependent on the rest of the system and listening room.

On your Vibrapod trial, I think stacking the Vibrapods inside each other as you did would definitely compromise their efficiency. I would suggest trying that trial again using a small piece of timber or something as an added raiser so that you can get by with a single Vibrapod, and then also comparing them stacked the way I suggest, Do note that you do need a hard surface between the Vibrapods when you stack them in pairs the way I did - they are designed to work with the flat side supported by a hard surface and they should be used that way.

Keep playing, and keep reporting, but also keep an open mind. There probably are some useful choices among the items you've 'discarded', provided you make appropriate changes elsewhere.
