1Nxxxx diodes as rectifiers are JUNK to the serious audiophile. Replace them with HEXFREDs from Digi-Key. It is NOT the speed of the diode that is the factor of merit. Rather, it is the SOFT RECOVERY characteristics which generate far fewer nasties at turnoff. How fast a diode do you need to rectify 60 cycle AC ?Happy Listening !
