With the low cost of these DIY Rollerblocks and the relatively small variation in the design. I'm from the low mass/wide-bandwidth school of design (a la oracle/pink triangle) versus the VPI/SOTA school. When two halves are pushed into each other, the resultant structure is quite strong and nearly resonant-free. Your point about denting or deformation under the contact point is valid but I've not noticed it using my lightweight DVD player.

Some other designers have used Bondo as filler inside the blocs..

It might be worth having a head-to-head comparison of different different designs by exchanging finished products in a swap fashion.
