Not necessarily true, Steve. Copper of 6N purity or higher can be dreadfully expensive, even when bought directly from the manufacturer. I recently had Acrolink (formerly Acrotec/Japan Energy) make up a 300-gram spool of 40micrometer polyurethane-jacketed ultra-high purity copper. Our purchasing price?
