Actually, the three inch radius will merely mean a lower resonant frequency which can be a good thing.
The epoxy fill sounds like a good idea. You might also want to consider somehow embedding the pull in something solid that will stifle the inherent "ring" of the thin brass, which could otherwise lend a "brightening" to the sound.
Should be interesting to hear about your experiences with these.
